I was told if you do at least 1 hour of cardio per day, that's enough to burn fat, plus your diet.

Yeah cardio will definitely help. You can try around 30-45mins of cardio in the morning before you eat breakfast. Some people do not agree with performing cardio on an empty stomach but, it has been working for me.

Empty carbs rest in the body's midsection. Control your intake of rice, bread, pasta and sugar. In other words, excessive amounts of bleached white flour and bleached white sugar in any form bloat the midsection. And dont forget that alcohol is also loaded with empty calories.

In my experience adding cardio to my regular workout and making changes to my diet work best for me.  I've learned to alternate my ab work as well, so I don't develop too much comfort with any one exercise.  For me my cardio always follows my weight work, I do 30 to 60 min cardio after all weight work and at least once per week do a full hour of high intensity cardio after my abs work.  I'm not at all as tight as I'd like to be right now and that is because of my lack of nutrition discipline - otherwise known as Diet. I'm in that phase where I am building muscle under my fat, the fat will start to decrease eventually - I have to be patient and committed.  Building my muscle will provide a larger furnace to melt/burn the fat.

The Reason I Am Here Is....

Hey guys...good morning, afternoon or even night where ever you may be.I just had a decent work out after only going one other time this week, maybe even twice. Once again reminded how much I am not a fan of cardio even though I know that it is a great way to shave off the extra pounds. As I did cardio, I caught myself glancing at the dudes in the free weight area and remembering fondly how I got pretty toned, dare I say, muscular, last year from working my ass off on the weights. Ahhh...the good old days. I even remembered that I had shaved off some weight even while I avoided cardio like the plague. Now don't get me wrong, I do walk places and can work up a sweat, but in all honesty, again, not a fan of sweat, unless it is someone elses :)I logged on today and yes, looked at some pics, and yes, read a few posts, but also wanted to just check in with the group and figure out a way to use this group as a tool for me to work towards my physical goals. I think posting my thoughts and actions on my goal is more helpful probably to me than anyone else because it is there in black and white and (for me), I have an easier time just being honest about what I am/am not doing for my health when I write than when I talk about it.The title of the discussion is "The Reason I am Here Is..." is because I would like to hear from others who are focusing on their physical health ---So why are you doing it and where are you headed with it?Continue
