black bodybuilders & musclemen
I would like to welcome all new members to the group and hope you find something that will uplift your spirit. It has been a while since I posted an entry in our group. I understand that there is a new group on spirituality here on BBM. This group focuses more on Christianity but all faith traditions are welcome here. I am a member of another site and we have started a quest to read the Bible in one year. I am helping with moderation and explaining the passages each day. The bible quest that I am on has strengthened me in ways I cannot even mention. I hold certification as a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher at my home church. Moderating the group on that site bought out the Bible teacher inside of me. I have taken spiritual gift inventories and one of my gifts is teaching along with administration. I say these things because this was the motivation for me to start this group on this site. Even I enjoy looking at the pictures of beautiful men and getting inspired to work on my body, there is more to life that having a nice figure. We should take care of our spiritual temples and work on our faith journeys. I will post some more threads in the group to generate discussion and hopefully strengthen each other as we manage the thing we call life. There is a scripture I want to close with and that is the following:
"Brothers and sisters, I myself don't think I've reached it, but I do this one thing: I forget about the things behind me and reach out for the things ahead of me. The goal I pursue is the prize of God's upward call in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14, Common English Bible).
The above scripture is one of many scriptures I use to encourage myself, especially in losing weight and taking care of my mother.
Johnny thank you for this. I have often posted on FB and Twitter after I worship in the assmebly of His people I worship Him with the activity of my body in the gym. Most people know my Sunday routine is go to Mass then the gym and then the liquor store. But seriously we must minister to our spirits as well as our bodies. I do appreciate this forum which you created for us. Continue to seek His kingdom and thus build the city of God.
